Disney's Art of Animation Resort Photos

This is the bridge connecting
Disney's Pop Century and Art of Animation Resorts.




Inside Animation Hall, you'll find the check-in lobby.



Disney's artwork is the theme of this resort
as you can see by the display on the back wall of the lobby.




Here is another wall of animation cells.




Check out the amazing chandelier of sketches.




Here's a look inside "Landscape of Flavors",
the resort's food court.



You'll find a variety of specialty food stations,
like the one pictured above.




The "Ink & Paint Shop" is where you'll find
your next Disney souvenir.



The art theme continues inside the store
with giant paint bottle displays.




Just outside Animation Hall, you'll find the Schoolyard Sprayground
featuring Nemo and all his friends.



Finding Nemo building facing The Big Blue Pool.




Children's play area.




Crush & Dory sculpture.





Rafiki invites you to the Lion King section.




Hakuna Matata!




Stay away from the Elephant Graveyard.



Actually, kids are welcome to the Elephant Graveyard.
It's a playground!
But no climbing, please
(as indicated by the many signs).




Watch out for Scar!




But no worries, Simba watches over
the pride land both day and night.









The next area we come to is The Little Mermaid section,
as marked by the statue of Prince Eric.




The "Under the Sea" theme is detailed on every building.





King Triton is just one of the enormous sculptures
you'll find in this area.










Hopefully, the little ones won't be frightened by Ursula the Sea Witch.









Of course, we can't have a Little Mermaid section 
without the sea princess herself, Ariel.




Here she is with her best friend, Flounder.




Here is a layout of the resort, indicating all the sections and buildings, including the Cars section.
Sorry, I didn't get to photograph that area as it was our check-out day 
and we had to get going but that just gives me a reason to go back. ;)

Disney World and Disneyland Waffle Recipe

Disney has the best waffles I've ever tasted
and the secret to their delicious taste is in the flour.
comes with buttermilk and malt powder
already in the mix to give it a distinct flavor.
Here's the recipe so you can make
a batch of your very own.
(The best part is that your whole house
will smell like Disney for a little while.)

Disney World and Disneyland Waffles
*makes 3-4 Belgium-style waffles


Ingredients:

1 cup Carbon's Golden Malted Pancake and Waffle Mix
2 tablespoons sugar
5 ounces water
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons butter, melted


Directions:

Preheat Belgian Waffle Iron.

Mix Waffle Mix with sugar in a large bowl. Set aside. In a small bowl, whisk water and egg. Pour into the Waffle Mix. Add vanilla. Slowly add in the melted butter and stir well. 

Ladle the batter into the waffle iron and close the lid. Let cook for several minutes until golden brown. Remove from iron. Serve hot with warm syrup or top with fruit and whipped cream.

The Full Montagu Recipe from Earl of Sandwich (Downtown Disney)

 
"The Full Montague" is stuffed with goodness,
making it one of the most popular menu items
at Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney.
And now you can make this  delicious sandwich at home
following this easy recipe. Enjoy!
 
 
 
 
The Full Montagu
*serves 4
 
Ingredients:
 
4 Sub rolls (usually found in grocery store bakery)
1/2 pound (8 ounces) thinly-sliced roast beef
1/2 pound (8 ounces) shaved or thinly-sliced turkey
8 slices of sharp cheddar cheese (each slice should be cut into 2 triangles)
8 slices of Swiss cheese (each slice should be cut into 2 triangles)
lettuce
12 slices of tomato
honey mustard
 
 
 
Directions:
 
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
 
Split sub rolls down the middle lengthwise. Layer roast beef on bottom half of roll. Top with a layer of turkey slices. Next, add four triangles of the cheddar cheese. Top with four Swiss triangles. Place the sandwich (open-faced) on top of a foil-lined baking sheet and bake in oven for 4-5 minutes, until cheese is melted and bread is toasty.
 
Remove from oven and spread the lettuce on top of the melted cheese. Top with three slices of tomato. Drizzle a generous amount of honey mustard. Finally, add the top half of the sub. Serve with a side of kettle chips in your favorite flavor, just like at Earl of Sandwich. ;)
