"LeFou's Brew" or "Red's Apple Freeze" Recipe


I first tasted "LeFou's Brew" last month when I was in Disney World 
and after the first sip I was hooked!
In all honesty, I expected to hate the drink because 
it's such a strange combination of flavors, none of which I'm too fond of: 
apple, mango, passionfruit & toasted marshmallow.
Weird, right?
Well, I was SO wrong!
I bought one for my whole family to taste just to see what all the hype was about
and after tasting it, I turned around, went right back into Gaston's Tavern, 
got in line and bought 3 more.
Then several days later, when we were in Magic Kingdom again,
we each had another to enjoy while watching "Wishes".
Yes, it's that good!
And I knew immediately I wanted to come home
and share the recipe with all of you...
so here it is!



"LeFou's Brew" (Magic Kingdom) or 
AKA "Red's Apple Freeze" (Disney's California Adventure)
*makes 32 ounces



Foam Topping Ingredients:

1 cup heavy whipping cream, cold
4 tablespoons Mango Nectar/Juice (I found this in my grocery store's Mexican Food aisle)
4 tablespoons Passionfruit Juice (I found this in the refrigerated juice section, by orange juice)
3 tablespoons sugar


Foam Topping Directions:

Pour whipping cream into mixing bowl. Add mango and passionfruit juices. Add sugar and beat on high until stiff peaks form (this can take a while and it helps if your mixing bowl has been chilled). Set aside in fridge.



Apple Slush Ingredients:

2 (12 ounce) cans of frozen no-sugar added apple juice concentrate (keep frozen until ready to use)
12 ounces cold water (I just filled one of the empty juice cans for this)
3 squirts (or tablespoons) Torani Toasted Marshmallow Syrup (I found this for less than $5 from this site: lollicupstore.com)


Apple Slush Directions:

Dump both cans of frozen apple juice into a blender. Add water and 3 squirts of the toasted marshmallow syrup. Blend on high for about 10 seconds. You should now have a slush texture beverage. Immediately** pour into glasses and top with prepared foam topping. That's it! Your LeFou's Brew/Red's Apple Freeze is all done. Enjoy (and don't blame me if you're hooked)! :D



**TIP: Disney keeps the mix moving in those rotating slush machines all day. I don't have one of those and more than likely you don't either. With that in mind, don't make your Le Fou's Brew until you are actually ready to serve it. It does not keep, it will begin to separate (and melt).

If you have leftovers, you can always stick it back in the freezer and just blend it again next time you want to enjoy the tasty treat, otherwise, it's best to drink it right away. But, if your family is anything like mine, you probably won't have any leftovers. They were drinking it faster than I could make it!

    we used your recipe to make our own Brew at home!! We had to substitute Vanilla syrup and we added some cinnamon on the top!! Yum!! We posted about it and provided links back to your site!!
