Whispering Canyon Cafe: Cinnamon Apples


1/4 cup butter
6 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and cut into 1/4-inch thick slices
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1/2 cup cold water
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon


    Melt butter in a large saucepan or skillet over medium heat. Add sliced apples and saute for 7-8 minutes or until softened, stirring constantly.

   Dissolve cornstarch in cold water, mixing well and add to skillet with apples. Stir in brown sugar and cinnamon and raise heat. Boil for 3-4 minutes, stirring continuously. Reduce heat to medium and let cook an additional 8-10 minutes until tender. Remove from heat and serve warm. Top with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat. Yum!!
