Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights Video

One of my all-time favorite experiences at Walt Disney World was viewing The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. I can't even explain the overwhelming feeling of joy you get standing there surrounded by millions (yes, millions) of Christmas lights dancing to your favorite holiday music. It is absolutely incredible!

And in honor of it's return to Disney's Hollywood Studios this evening (runs nightly through January 7, 2012) I have uploaded my own personal video footage for you to enjoy. :)

The last few minutes of the video were filmed through the lens of 3-D prism glasses that we purchased at a street cart (for $1, I believe). They give it a neat kaleidoscope effect.

The video ends with Elvis singing "Blue Christmas". It was our last night at Disney and the park was closing. We would be on our flight headed back home the following day. The cast members were supposed to be directing all the guests towards the exit but instead were dancing and singing along with Elvis. :D Everyone was dancing. My husband even took me into his arms and began dancing with me (which is rare).

It was so hard to leave that beautiful display of lights, I wanted to move into one of those fake set apartments on the Streets of New York just so I could see them every night. lol. But we had to go, the magic had to end. I think that's always the hardest part of visiting Disney, having to leave. I still feel sad every time I hear "Blue Christmas".   : (

So, if you ever get to visit WDW during the holidays, The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights is an absolute MUST SEE!! It's an experience you will never forget.
