50's Prime Time Cafe: PB & J Milkshake Recipe

At the nostalgic 50's Prime Time Cafe in Disney's Hollywood Studios you will find a wide array of homestyle dishes: "Grandma's Chicken Pot Pie", "Dad's Traditional Meatloaf" and "Mom's Old-Fashioned Potroast" but the most popular item on the menu is not a dish, it's a milkshake - "The PB & J Milkshake".

This unique concoction is not only a memorable experience but it takes you down memory lane, remembering your childhood days of gobbling up layers of gooey peanut butter and grape jelly spread between two slices of white bread with the crusts cut off as a quick snack between school and playing outside with your neighborhood friends.

And although 50's Prime Time Cafe is the only place you can find this sweet treat in all of Walt Disney World, you can now try it for yourself in your very own kitchen by following the recipe below. Enjoy!

50's Prime Time Cafe PB & J Milkshake
Serves 2

1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
3 tablespoons grape jelly
1/4 cup milk
3 cups vanilla ice cream*, softened
2 teaspoons vanilla extract or flavoring

In a small bowl, combine the peanut butter and jelly, mixing well with a spoon. Set aside. Scoop the ice cream into your blender pitcher. Pour in the milk and vanilla extract. Add the mixture of peanut butter and jelly. Process in blender until smooth, using the Milkshake button (if your blender has one) or High button. Stop the blender halfway through and scrape the sides of the pitcher. Blend again. Pour into 2 glasses and add a straw.

*You can add more ice cream if you prefer a thicker shake.
